Flamintea | Packaging Design
Challenge
The matcha beverage category is often visually calm and minimal, creating little differentiation on shelf. The challenge was to design a ready-to-drink matcha can that stands out in retail while maintaining clarity, credibility, and respect for matcha culture.
Strategy
The packaging uses character interaction as the core design device. Instead of a static mascot, the flamingo actively engages with matcha — blending, sipping, and reacting differently across four flavours: Matcha Latte, Coco Matcha, Ichigo Matcha, and Yuzu Matcha.
Solution
The final system combines bold typography, expressive illustration, and a matcha-inspired palette to create strong shelf impact. Each can feels dynamic yet cohesive, balancing personality with functional clarity.
Flamintea demonstrates how playful storytelling and structured packaging design can coexist — turning a traditional product into a modern, character-driven retail experience.
